The generous developers from fnord software has released an OpenEXR plugin for After Effects CS3 with full channel support. If you own AE CS3 and intend to use OpenEXR files this is a must have. http://www.fnordware.com/OpenEXR/Cheers, Mike P.S. Yes, it has been tested with exrTrader and is compatible

Hey Mike
Trying to get this to work with the MAC versions and having problems!
I used the ZIP compression method which works perfectly on the PC, but you get a bunch of stars (*) next to the extra channels on the MAC. I tried a different format, but then I got the stars!
What I'm after is a compression that will work with both - any ideas?

ZPI should work with both... Fnordware use the latest openEXR library as well (and ZIP hase been there for ages). Does uncompressed work? Otherwise you might need to send a sample image for Fnordware to check out. Cheers, Mike

Hope you don't mind me asking but where are the After Effects OpenEXR plugins on FNord site? All I could find was a link to the source code. or do they have to be compiled? I'm trying out CS4 at the moment but am likely to buy CS5 real soon so another question would be - will these plugs work in the newer versions of After Effects?
Thanks in advance of your reply Dave

CS5 already includes them. The AE plugins are included in the ProEXR Download. Cheers, Mike
