Reopening this old thread, because I'm facing a related question:  What, if any, benefits would a Mac UB user get from purchasing Infinimap Pro versus Infinimap EXR?  I do virtually all of my surfacing on Mac, so the option to use the other formats on Windows isn't really useful to me.  Also, my need for large texture support is limited, so it's a lot easier for me to justify the Infinimap EXR price (esp. with the Siggraph sale), but I'm trying to understand precisely what I'd be missing out on if I went with Infinimap EXR (UB) instead of Infinimap Pro?
You don't miss out a thing if you're on OSX only. The only difference is the support for ECW/JPEG2000 (because the library for that is broken on OSX and doesn't work properly).
Apparently there's patches/fixes for it and I will re-investigate in the near future. Don't hold your breath for it though.
There's also an upgrade path for the regular price difference if anything changes in the future (i.e. ECW/JPEG2000 support making it on OSX).

Cheers,
Mike

Almost right after the release of the last shaderMeister and the last db&w Tools a few minor issues came to our attention.

Have a look here for the changes.

Two music videos produced using exrTrader

The Final Frontier by Iron Maiden and Ordinary world by RED.

You can watch them on our website.

Yes, we will visit Siggraph this year and we're really looking forward to it.
We won't have a booth, but we'll be around for the whole conference as well as the following week up until and including the 7th of August.

If any of you are in the area and would like to meet up for a drink and a chat - or maybe even show us where you work, we'd love to see you.

Hello,

we've been busy fixing various bugs in and finally ported exrTrader, shaderMeister and db&w Tools to 64-bit on OSX.
http://www.db-w.com/content/view/147/79/

exrTrader has been updated to version 1.5b.

It features support for 64-bit LightWave 3D on OSX and also writes a lot more metadata than it previously did.

shaderMeister has been updated to version 1.1d.

We've added support for 64-bit LightWave 3D on OSX and fixed a cosmetic issue concerning the placement of the OK and Cancel buttons in some panels.

The free db&w Tools are at version 1.6 now and also include a port to LightWave 64-bit on OSX. We've also added a new "Remap" node and enhanced the Single Light Lambert node.

We'd also like to use this opportunity to thank our team of beta testers again. Thank you for your time and dedication.

We hope you enjoy working with our plugins. If you have any issues, feature requests or niggles, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Cheers,
Dagmar & Mike

Hope you don't mind me asking but where are the After Effects  OpenEXR plugins on FNord site? All I could find was a link to the source code. or do they have to be compiled?
I'm trying out CS4 at the moment but am likely to buy CS5 real soon so another question would be - will these plugs work in the newer versions of After Effects?

Thanks in advance of your reply
Dave
CS5 already includes them.

The AE plugins are included in the ProEXR Download.

Cheers,
Mike
